My Take on “Beach Wave” Hair

My hair and I have always had a “complicated” relationship (haha!). I have wavy hair, with some more curls underneath, and ALWAYS a little frizz. Throughout the years, I have learned to love my hair, and have started to learn and research different products and techniques that make it a lot easier to manage. One technique is what I like to call the “beach wave” method, but i use a straightener instead of a curler (learning how to use a curler will happen for me one day…hopefully!). Below I go through the way that I get my hair to look like it has “beach waves?” (Haha!), and the products I use.

Steps:

1. Towel dry hair
2. Take a quarter size of Living Proof-No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream and 2 pumps of Nexxus-3.3 oz. Styling and Pre-Cleanse Oil (I can’t find this anywhere anymore, so I started using Living Proof No Frizz Vanishing Oil (2-5 drops), and I love it so much more than the Nexxus serum), rub on hands (like you’re putting on lotion)
3. Rub ends of hair between both hands, flip hair over, and run fingers through hair until products are off of hands

4. Let hair air dry approx. 80%

5. Spray hair with a leave-in conditioner (I use Unite 7Seconds Condition)
4. Blow dry my hair with REVLON-One-Step Hair Dryer And Volumizer Hot Air Brush

5. Use a straightener (I use Remington 8510 Anti Frizz Therapy Hair Straightener, 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Iron with Digital Controls, White) to twist hair (do as many twists as you feel like, or section your hair in 2-3 in pieces)

6. Once all hair is in “twists”, let them cool down
7. Run comb through twists
8. Spray hair with NAVY Hair Care-Pebble Beach – Dry Texture Spray (This is one of my favorite hair products of all time, because it’s light weight, and it smells AMAZING!!)
9. DONE!

*I take Living Proof- No Frizz Instant De-Frizzer with me, in my bag in case my hair decides to have a life of it’s own, and do what ever it pleases.
